Susan Riches.

My ancestor Susan Riches wed Henry Helsdon in May 1725 in Norwich, Norfolk. They wed at All Saints. Henry was a widower and Susan single. Henry had 3 sons from his first wife Elizabeth.

Henry and Susan (Nee Riches) Helsdon had children Robert born 1725, Elizabeth born 1727, Dennis born 1729, Elizabeth born 1737 and Elizabeth born 1739, the 2 older Elizabeth's died in infancy.

Henry died in 1750 and is buried at All Saints as is Susan who died in 1762.

A few Susan Riches were born c1690-1705 in Norfolk, one in Pockthorpe to William and Mary but I believe she died as a spinster in 1761. There was a Susan Riches baptised in 1691 to James and Debra and one to Edmund and Susan, who died in infancy. A Susan Riches wed John Titchwell in 1710 in Norwich, could be the 1691 one.

One who stands out is Susan Riches who was born in 1694 daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth Riches in Norwich. An Isaac Riches died in 1751 and is buried at All Saints Norwich. It says he was a widower. Susan Helsdon nee Riches was buried at All Saints in 1762.

Isaac may have been a brother to Edward as they seemed to marry spouses with the same maiden name Bush.

My 3xgreat grandfather emigrated to America in 1886 once he was widowed. Talk about a fresh start.
