Re: John & Mary HOWARD

How can she die 2 years before Catherine is born?

No mistaking Elizth Webb on shipping record for Mary Taylor or Mary Lister.

Births Mar Qtr 1846
Howard Richard Risbridge 12 405

Richard 2 Hundon Suffolk Parents on board = John & Mary

Dead as of 1848.

Re: John & Mary HOWARD

So, Catherine may have been told her mother was Mary, not Elizabeth

Re: John & Mary HOWARD

HOWARD, Mary Anne F 5 Cambridgeshire

Not on the shipping record. Where is the death before October 1848?

Marriage 2236/1868 DENNING THOMAS - HOWARD CATHERINE - GOULBURN ** 31 Apr 1868

Death 14333/1924 DENNING CATHERINE - JOHN - MARY - PARKES ** 22 Jul 1924

If that is correct and Mary is her mother then I can't explain why the shipping record clearly has Catherine's mother as Elizth Webb.

Re: John & Mary HOWARD

Got that thanks Geoff. The copy I have says Elizabeth 30 was the only one not born county.

Address: Carlton Green

I looked for other Elizabeths the same age but neither of those two fit the Carlton burial.

Now I'm thinking of any reason/advantage gained by listing Catherine's mother as Elizabeth.

Re: John & Mary HOWARD

There is a tree that has Elizabeth b. Linton, but also has this..

"Elizabeth and John married in cum-Willingham - Carlton-cum-Willingham Parish Registers - Marriage 1829 - Dec 4 Howard (X), John bac otp Webb, Elizabeth sp otp by banns witnesses: John Webb Katherine Howard Her father & mother were Thomas Webb & Maria Petit and she was baptised in Suffolk (IGI reg): name: Elizabeth Webb gender: Female baptism/christening date: 25 Mar 1810 baptism/christening place: LITTLE WELNETHAM,SUFFOLK,ENGLAND father's name: Thomas Webb mother's name: Maria Pettit indexing project (batch) number: P01453-1 system origin: England-ODM source film number: 0496953 IT 1 Elizabeth Embleton Webb not this Elizabeth."

May or may not be worth looking into
