Monica hall

born 1797 Baps. Withernwick .Can't find a death for her .There is a marr. for a Monica Hall 1828 to a William Patison ,but it is Portsea, Hampshire, England. There is a Monica Patison in the 1851 Census,c1801 Hull.

Anyone got Portsea marriage records.

Re: Monica hall

The Catholic Church where Monica was baptised was in Holderness Road just outside Hull,

Re: Monica hall

Trying to find marriage details.Monica was born Withernwick, Bapts Marton in Holderness. Have all parents records. Need to find if Monica Patison who says born in Hull, is Monica Hall born Withernwick .Married1828 Portsea.A long way from Yorkshire.Either marriage details, or a death for Monica Hall before 1828.

Re: Monica hall

I presume you have noticed that in the 1841 Census Monica Patison has a 65 yr old Monica Hall living with her, possibly her mother.

Re: Monica hall

As the marriage between Monica Hall and William Patison took place in Portsea I had a quick look to see if William was in the Navy and found rather sparse details that a William Patison was an Assistant Surgeon. That could possibly explain the Government Pension mentioned in the 1861 Census.

I would have thought that Henry was born out of wedlock but cannot find a birth/baptism to confirm. The only other explanation was that he was born in wedlock and Monica Hall was a widow when she married William Patison so the chances of her maiden name being Hall are unlikely but , I suppose, always possible.

Re: Monica hall

1841 Census Monica Hall aged 65 living with Monica Patison

Monica Hall born ithernick has mother named Monica nee Salvidge. It would appear that Monica Salvidge was born 1775 making her 66 in 1841. Can't get much closer than that.
