Re: George Henry EVANS - Abingdon

They have 5 offspring in 1881, including an 11yo Ellen. A couple of trees point to this mar. Evans misspelt.

Marriages Q1 1872
Douglas Rosa Maria
EVENS George Henry
Rundle Mary Susannah
Waters William John
St.Geo.H.Sq
1a 406

Mary would be very young in 1871, b. c1855.

Re: George Henry EVANS - Abingdon

Thanks Ellie.

Thanks Geoff.

This George is one of five possibles I'm trying to trace.

Looks as though this one is ruled out.

This is the one I'm tracing but there are several problems:

Marriages Jun Qtr 1870
Evans George Reading 2c 663
Herbert Sabina Reading 2c 663

1871
RG10 Piece 1308 Folio 15 Pages 21 and 22
Civil Parish: Hillingdon
County: Middlesex
Registration District: Uxbridge
Lodging at "The Good Woman"
Address: 20 Oxford Road, Hillingdon
Henry G Evens Lodger Mar 23 Groom Oxford Caversham
Sabina Evens Lodger Mar 24 Berkshire Solham [Sulham]
William Evens Lodger 3 Berkshire Reading
Harry Evens Lodger under 1 Month Middlesex Hillingdon

Jerusalem Arrived 15 Apr 1875 Sydney and family Reel 2140, [4/4799] Page 141; Reel 2486, [4/5000]
EVANS George 26 Coachman Berkshire CofE Both
EVANS Sabina 27 Berkshire
EVANS William 6 Berkshire
EVANS Herbert H. 3 Middlesex
EVANS Sabina inft Surrey

Henry G born Caversham in census yet George born Berkshire in shipping record.

That must be the right family in 1871.

I have no death for George (just George in all records found so far in Australia) so no parents on death reg.

Also, don't yet have parents from 2nd shipping reel.

Caversham became part of Reading RD in 1916 [close to Berkshire border]

Re: George Henry EVANS - Abingdon

This one in the other topic looks to be the one not ruled out:
