OBRITUARY A Blessington correspondent writes: lrom across the sea comes the sad news of the death of Mrs. Henry Hart, of Brldge-road, Drummoyne, who passed away at the Balmain Hospital at the early age of 39 years. Deceased, though a resident of Sydney for some years, was a native of Blessington, being the second surviving daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Dunn, and a general favourite with her youthful companions. She was also a resident of Launceston, and later of Zeehan, where she had many friends. The deceased lady had been ailing for some time, but it was only lately the seriousness of her illness was known. An operation, which was imperative, took place on August 20, and was successful, but left her very weak. After a few days she rallied, but it was only for a time. The body was taken to the Sacred Heart Church, and remained there until interment on Friday morning. The church was draped in black. After mass 'the priests chanted prayers for the dead, and again before the coffin left the chuch. As the sad procession passed down the aisle the "Dead March" was played.

8294/1909 HART MARY A THOMAS CATHERINE BALMAIN NORTH
I cant find a marriage in NSW for them so maybe Tassie.
Gibbo,
I don't know how you do it!! Yes, I have considered the children. This Thomas and Catherine had eight children that I can see. Mary Ann is at the top of this list b. 1860. Strangely, there is another Mary, b. 1872 on the same list. There must have been one before Mary Ann, if the Obituary is correct. (One expects the family to get it right)! Perhaps one was born in Victoria where her parents married. The difficult part with this is to find the children. Descendants could be all over the country or O.S by now.
Still to confirm if this is the correct family. I did find an alternative in Hobart but because the kids given names link to the Websters, I tend to favour the Blesington Dunns. Boy, have funerals changed!
I was led on a merry chase for some time with Thomas William Webster Jr married to Ethel Undy. The Undy family had the dates for our Thomas in there early records and as they appeared to be in the correct area, there was little to give a reason to doubt the info. As it has recently turned out, the family had the wrong Thomas William Webster, so back to square one here. Located their family obituary for confirmation!! The descendants of our Tom Webster (b.1886) family have proved difficult to locate, although there were six siblings. They are probably right under our noses also.
Looking right now!! Henry Hart b, 1865 Sydney. Marriage: 1898 Evandale, Tasmania: To Mary Dunn seems to be the only one to fit the bill. Mary's age in the obit. is closer to the second Mary. b. 1872, so perhaps Mary Ann b. 1860 died.
No children listed. Must have been married about 10 years when she died.
These were the births i was given via a look up but the person wasnt real sure if they are yours as Catherine's maiden name is still in question with the HOSP. and Hogan was the closet they could find. Do any of these mean anything. There is a Mary Ann born 1860 and also one child named Esther, maybe she was named after her aunt Or they are not your Thomas and Catherine's. Mary Ann's age is way out isnt it?

You are spending far too much time on me. It will drive you to distraction!!
The above, is the family that is under the microscope here. The actual Vic. BDM's marriage reg. for Thomas and Catherine has her name officially as HOSN. That is what it looks like on the marriage certificate. The list of the same children as above, that I have has another child, Mary Dunn, b 1872 at Blessington which fits the date in the obituary more closely than the first Mary. If she is the second surviving daughter I think the 1872 one must be her. It would still be about one year out, depending on the day/date of birth, which is a pest. On this list, there is also an unnamed female, b. 1864 that fits the second daughter who must have died.
The name Fanny also features in the Webster family a couple of times. Also Mary, the mother of Thomas, James, Etty etc. Then again they could just be popular names of the era.
I had a look at Trove for a Sydney Morning Herald death notice but couldn't see anything, but no confirmation on what day she died. I'll check again later.
I'll see if I can pick up Henry Hart's birth. No idea how we can confirm if this is the correct family at this stage. Just working on the "Not too obvious" info we have!!
