Help finding information on grandfathers parents?

Hello,

I am starting from the beginning, I am trying to find something, anything really on my grandfathers parents.

I was wondering if someone would mind giving me a push start?

My Grandfather was born in 1939 in Surrey or Middlesex....I've also heard Dunoon, Scotland. His Name is Edward Grist.

Any pointers would be great.

Thank you.

Re: Help finding information on grandfathers parents?

Hi Sharnee
It's very difficult confirming you have the right man with so little info.
Do you know your grandmothers name? What was your parents christian names. If the info is sensitive you could post on the private/sensitive forum, or wait till you have made three posts, then send it by private message

Re: Help finding information on grandfathers parents?

FreeBMD shows only one Edward Grist born in 1939:
Births Sep 1939 (>99%)
Grist Edward G Wilson Kensington 1a 165

Wilson is the mother's maiden name. That may not be him, as FreeBMD sometimes has stuff missing, so he may not show there.
