Three HAMILTON sisters. I'd like confirmation of the following please.

It appears some of the birth reg only give the year and not the quarter.


Eileen Margaret Mar 1973 Lewes Vol 5H p. 1776 - dob 10 Mar 1894

Is that death March or March quarter? I have date as 26 Mar 1973.

Birth: Dublin South V2, p.604

Doris Mellefont Sep 1980 Lewes Vol 18 p. 1152 - dob 08 Jul 1897

Is that death Sep or Sep quarter? I have date as 3 Jul 1980.

Birth: Dublin South V2, p.575 (Mellfont/Mellefont/Mellifont)?

Iris Anne July 1990, Est age 86, Lewes Sussex, Vol 18 p. 1068 - dob 13 Jan 1904

Is that death July or July quarter? I have date as just July 1990.

Birth: Dublin South Q1, V2, p.560, E57


Can the full dates of death be confirmed any way short of purchasing copies from GRO?

Re., Eileen Margaret, I cannot find her on the FreeBMD, though Sussex should be on there up to 1974. I found it on Anc. and it is Q1 (Jan - Mar) - (5n, 1776). She is not on the NBI either.

Doris Mellefort, same applies, Q3 (Jul - Sep) - (18, 1152).

Iris Ann, I saw the entry and it is likely to be Q3 (Jul - Sep) - (18, 106.
