I have two great aunts both in their 90s and they still believe family lore that my ggg grand mother and father died before 1835 in Paisley Scotland, about four years after my gg grandfather Stephen was born on 5 Nov 1831, baptised 4 Dec 1831. I have all three in the 1841 census and the death certificates of both Stephen's parents. The two great aunts still cling to their view despite the evidence I've found. Nice romantic story that the orphan went to sea at age 14 to the goldfields in California.
