Re: Martha Hyatt born Gloucestershire

Many thanks Geoff. I haven't seen the actual image of the marriage si was unaware of the Joseph Hiatt.

You are also correct about daughter Mary Ann in the 1861 Census.

It's one of those complicated family things - Annie Maria was my gt gt grandmother, born 1840 and died 1867. After her death Mary Ann moved in to care for the children and ended up marrying my gt gt grandfather. I think that marrying your dead wife's sister wasn't legal at that time!

I also have no idea what went wrong with Thomas and Martha's marriage. They moved from Cheltenham to Southampton in the 1840's but by the 1850's Martha and the children were back in Cheltenham in the Workhouse and Thomas seems to have moved to London. he died 1865 in Marylebone Workhouse.

Thanks for looking for me.
