Thanks for your reply. The family oral tradition suggests thar Annie's brother, therefore Sinclairina's son, George emigrated but came back for World War One. It is quite possible that George, born in 1881 is the one i am looking for. There are 2 George Hendersons in the Commonwealth War Graves record with 1/5 Seaforths, 1 is recorded as "A native of Halkirk" but the dates of birth don't match. I may be at fault in assuming that he served with the Seaforths.

On a different note did Donald move to Legerwood in the Borders, near Earlston, if so I met him and knew him as "Uncle Dan" in the 1960s as he was was trying to trace his sister. Unfortunately my Gran had died by then but I do remember meeting him.
