It clearly says 3rd ult. but must be 3 Aug. ?

Another article says 31 Aug. ??

Several have 3 Sept and several 31 Aug.

Can't see that fitting.

Looks as though Mary had to depart after 12 April 1887 and arrive before 25 Dec 1887.



I can't see Mary arriving and then returning by 12 April then...

So when did Jessie arrive? Is she in census in Scotland with grandparents?

I agree same person but unmarried name becomes Mearns and ends up with parents on her death reg as Peter & Mary.

I was hoping that the naming pattern would at least point to Ann as his mother. I found one possible baptism around 1834 but it was not RD Cromarty.

Can't find a birth/baptism in SP for James in Cromarty.

Can't find a possible marriage for his parents.

Can't find a James that fits in 1841.

I think Murray is a daughter but no match with...
