I previously searched the Arnold side of my family and Thanks to Dave Lambert I got quite far back. Now I've started on my mums side The Forresters & Corbetts. My Grandad was called John Forrester born 18th April 1906 in Hope Hospital Pendleton, Salford. and his wife Elsie Forrester (Corbett) not sure of her DOB etc. my grandads grandparents were John Forrester born 1841 from Stoke on Trent his wife Mary Jane Forrester (Halkyard) born 1851 in Saddleworth, Yorkshire. I only have 1881 census I wonder if someone could help me filling in my missing family ie. my grandads parents and grandmothers parents.

They had a daughter named Helen and possibly a daughter named Mary. My father became very close to this family and even kept in touch with them post war when he returned to Italy. They would have liked him to have stayed on. Does anyone know of this Whitaker family. I am pretty sure the farm was in Chester. Is the farm still there?
