Hello,

My name is Sian and I have been researching Family History for approximately 15 years. I have one big brickwall in my family tree and in all this time have not managed to solve it. I equally enjoy doing the trees of my friends and family.

I have found first and second cousins previously unknown to me and become close to them as well as making some wonderful friends through my hobby. I am at the moment helping with the archiving of the papers and history of Cardigan Castle which is being restored over the next three years.

I would say that I am probably addicted to Family History as when I find a relative I like to read up all the relevant history surrounding the period in which they lived. History was never like that when I was at school. I have particularly strong connections with the US and Canada. My daughter was born in Maine and my daughter in law is from Washington State. My grandmother grew up in Halifax Nova Scotia. My daughter and I travelled there recently to trace family. It is a lovely place and we met many lovely people. One side of my family is Army back to 1760 every generation having at least one in the Army.

If anyone needs help with their family history in Wales in particular Pembrokeshire and Cardiganshire I would be willing to see if I can help.

Sinclair. Donald's father was a possible Patrick MacKay b. ( Caithness ? ).

Is it possible to confirm that this Francis is the father of Daniel McKay b.
1798 Caithness, Scotland - d. 1859, Welland, On., Canada. If so Whom was his wife?

If this Francis is that said person he had 2 brothers - 1. William b. Thurso,
Caithness, married to Catharine Henderson. And 2. George b. 4 Jul 1765,
Thurso, Caithness. If this is my Francis that I am searching he died Welland, On., Canada in 1813.

Lastly is it possible to confirm Donald & Elspet as parents & Patrick as grandfather?

Thank you very much for any help with this post!!!!!!!
