Hi Badger,

They could have lived to a ripe old age. Have you looked through the full death register on Ancestry? if you havent Ancestry have a 14 day free trial which would enable you to plus other records, also there is a service record on Ancestry for William. Have put Ancestrys link below.

Hi Badger,

I still had a look. Found a death registration for a Elizabeth Birtwistle:-

Year 1939
District Haslingden
Jan/Feb/Mar 1/4

Elizabeth Birtwistle
Age 59

I've looked up to Dec 1/4 1939
