Would anyone know of a Donald d. bef. 1910; John b. abt. 1833 d. aft. 1910; Margaret b. 1818, all born in Caithness.....
who came to New Zealand together & may have settled Dunedin.
Their parents were Alexander Sinclair (1790-1860) & Henrietta McGregor who remained in Caithness.
Thank you,
Dianne

Hi Diane,
Have been unable to trace the family (as a whole family) on the Scottish census. Have you any idea when they went to New Zealand. Did the sons have wives before they left. Did find a lone Henrietta Sinclair born Wick occ mangle woman on the 1871 and 1861 census.

Hi Julie,
Thank you so much for helping.
There was a Henrietta Sinclair b. abt 1852, Latheron d. aft. 1910 Latheron who was the daughter of George (Red George) Sinclair b. May 1819, Rumster, Forse, Latheron, Caith. d. 16 Apr 1910, Latheron who married Margaret Bruce Campbell b. 1816, Watten, Caithness. M. 20 Aug. 1847, Dalkeith, Midlothian. d. 10 Sep 1912, Latheron.
George was a brother of Margaret Sinclair who was b abt 1818 , Rumster, Forse, Latheron .
Another brother was Hector Sinclair b. 1826, Latheron, Caith., d. 30 May 1858, Rumster, Forse, Latheron, Caithness.
Sorry but don't know when they came out or if they were married when they came.
regards,
Di

Diane,
Finding it difficult to match up the Sinclairs, and there are other Sinclairs with similar details. Henrietta is a bit elusive. If you want I will still have a look post any details and then leave it with you to determine whether they are yours or not.

Hi Julie,
The ones I really want to find are Margaret b.1818; Donald & John b.abt 1833.
If you can find them on the last census they were in Caithness then I may be able to find when they came out to New Zealand. They were the only ones that I know of who came to NZ. Won't be easy as they may have been working elsewhere before they came.
Their brothers George d. d 16 Apr 1810, Latheron; & Hector d. 30 May 1858 in Latheron also.
Thank you for all the trouble you have gone to Julie,
regards,
Di
