Any ideas on date of this photo and the occassion she had her photo taken please. The back is black and blank. The card measures 6cm by 10.5cm.
Also could the photo have been taken in England?

Hi Tracey,
On googling City Chambers Royal Avenue Belfast i found the below. It might help to at least date the photo maybe.
City Chambers, Royal Avenue (1887), 143 Royal Avenue (1890)
(1892)(1895)(1896)(1897)(1899)(1900)(1901)

Hi Tracey,
Looks like Gibbo has narrowed down a timeframe for your beautiful photograph :)
As for the reason. I have a similar photograph of my Grandma, taken in 1911.
It was a portrait photo, taken for my Grandad, before they married :):)

Thanks Gibbo & Gaelywn
I think I've narrowed her down. Possibly one of my Great Aunt Streets. Birth dates 1879 & 1880, though I still don't know why they would be having a photo taken in Belfast. The Streets and connecting ancestors only ever appear in England.

Do the family have a connection with the ship building industry?...Belfast was a big centre for this at the time.

No connection that I know of Leefer.
I've come to the conclusion I will have to go over all that I have & look for matching dates.
I guess this is another one where if they had only written who she was.
