Can anyone make out the first name of Davies. Maybe Jane?

I can't make it out. The last three letters look like 'aes' and the first looks like a 'J' except there is a short stroke you would see on an 'F' so Jaes/Faes.

The last 3 seem to match the aes of Davies Julie, guessing it's for James as we get Jas for James sometimes? That's "making it fit" though redf)
Could you perhaps put any more of it on to compare more letters ?

Thanks for your input. I have'nt anything to compare it with as this was taken from the parish register. James could be a possibilty, other than that theres nothing that matches.

Maybe worth considering Welsh christian names with Davies being the sirname.

Tough one....looks like a capital F to me rather than a j.:confused:

It does look like Faes. No sign of a '.' to indicate it's an abbreviation. I've also looked at Welsh names and can't see anything that fits.
