Hello,

Marriages Jun 1868
Clements Henry Thomas P Bristol 6a 154
Hiscock Ellen Bristol 6a 154
Lear Alice Annie L Bristol 6a 154
Surman Joseph Bristol 6a 154

Births Dec 1870
CLEMENTS Alice Annie Bristol 6a 55

Deaths Mar 1871
Clements Alice Annie 0 Bristol 6a 42

The 1871 census was held on 2 April so there is NO chance daughter Alice will be there. I'm assuming Alice LEAR married Henry CLEMENTS.

I'd like a look up for the CLEMENTS family in 1871 please.

Regards,

Dave

Hello cp,

Thank you for fixing my error.

Oh. So that is probably the death of a different one.

When did Martha die then?

No sign of a Martha BEVAN b. 1821 +/- 5 years on 1911 index.

Dave

Hello cp,

This is the next part of the puzzle by elimination.

Marriages Dec 1842
Green John Keynsham 11 127
Leacy Mary Keynsham 11 127
PEACOCK Joseph Keynsham 11 127
PRESTON Eliza Keynsham 11 127
PRESTON Elizabeth Keynsham 11 127

It would fit better if Joseph married Mary >:D I mean then the spouse of the Joseph in my tree didn't marry Elizabeth PRESTON but Elizabeth - you guessed it - LEWTON / LEAR. If that was the case then we would have 3 siblings marrying 3 PEACOCK siblings. :D

So perhaps please look for John GREEN with ??? Thanks.

Regards,

Dave

Hello cp,

I've just found this:

name: John Green
event: Marriage
event date: 22 Oct 1842
event place: Abbots Leigh (Holy Trinity), Somersetshire, England
gender: Male
age:
christening date:
marriage date:
marital status: Single
burial date:
father: John Green
mother:
spouse: Eliza Preston
spouse's marital status: Single
spouse's father: William Preston

So a Joseph married a Mary LACY / LEACY.

name: Joseph Peacock
event: Marriage
event date: 13 Oct 1842
event place: Abbots Leigh (Holy Trinity), Somersetshire, England
gender: Male
age:
christening date:
marriage date:
marital status: Single
burial date:
father: Joseph Peacock
mother:
spouse: Mary Lacy
spouse's marital status: Single
spouse's father: Solomon Lacy
spouse's mother:

So, yipee, it's not my Joseph unless the father is wrong - Joseph instead of Aaron.

Regards,

Dave

Hello cp,

1851
Class H0107 Piece 2466 Folio 370 Page 55
CP: Swansea
Joseph Peacock head age 31 occ
Elizabeth wife age 32
James Peacock male age 8
Joseph Peacock male age 5
Jane Peacock age 1
No places of birth given nor occupation for Joseph.

Births Mar 1851
PEACOCK Jane Keynsham 11 130

I can't find a marriage that fits. If that is Elizabeth LEWTON / LEAR we possibly have her with siblings in 1841 (HODGES).

Joseph PEACOCK b. abt 1821 Bitton is not with his parents and siblings in 1841 so he should be somewhere and single. He ended up as a railway contractor. He is probably working on the railways in Wales in 1851.

Dave

Hello cp,

Thanks for looking. I would say this one:

John Green Eliza abt 1816 Newton, Oxfordshire, England Head Stapleton, Gloucestershire

being the closest to Bristol. Even though some of the Abbots Leigh records seem in error I'd say the marriage shows he married Elizabeth PRESTON.

Abbots Leigh is about 3 miles west of Bristol and Hanham Abbots is about 3 miles east of Bristol. I keep looking at this and wondering if it is 100% accurate:

name: Joseph Peacock
event: Marriage
event date: 14 Sep 1859
event place: Abbots Leigh (Holy Trinity), Somersetshire, England
gender: Male
age:
christening date:
marriage date:
marital status: Single
burial date:
father: Daniel Peacock
mother:
spouse: Elizabeth Lear
spouse's marital status: Single
spouse's father: Aaron Lear
spouse's mother:

It has the maiden name we want for Elizabeth and the correct names for both fathers.

If only we could find Joseph single in 1841 and a railway worker. ;)

Regards,

Dave

Hello cp,

Thanks for looking. I've gone through FreeBMD again and can't find a death for Martha. I tried searching without a family name but it said 'database error' eek)

Looks as though I'll have to order a death certificate for Ann and hope it says HORWOOD.

Dave
