I am hoping someone has some good suggestions for researching British folks in India. I have the paternal line of Lamond, they were with the military. The maternal lines are Johnston, Robinson, Ross and Callaghan. All very difficult to trace. The Ross clan in Tamil Nadu has some information on the LDS pilot search site.
