I am looking for this family in 1851, trying to find out if there are 2 sets of twins in this family. Would like to see if their birth years are the same as the 1841 census. I already have James in 1851 and not living with his family and his birth year is the same as the 1841 census.

This is them in 1841.

Hi Dave,
No i havent manage to open the file yet:( my daughter has been busy at work this week with the end of the school year coming up and then she had to go away for a couple of days as well. Hopefully sometime this week she will have some spare time to come and help me with it.

Well it appears from the 1841 and 1851 census that James and William were both born the same year. Could i assume they were twins or maybe one born early in the year and the other toward the end of the year? I wish birth cert. were out before the 1830's:rolleyes:
Thank you.

You are lucky gibbo that the beta site has data on the family that the original LDS FamilySearch site does not. That was the one I checked so I was wrong in saying there is no data on the family on-line yet. redf)

I'll have bad dreams all night now. :2fun:

Its all ok, they were found:biggrin: And no twins:rolleyes: Just as well i didnt take the word of the 1841 census. I only thought about checking it as even tho it could have been possible, but it would have been unusual to have 2 lots of twins in one family.

I did have a bad night. eek)

Oh, never take 1941 census as 100% accurate re ages.

Glad it's sorted. :)

Good going guys :)
1841 the ages were rounded up and sometimes down!!
I wish they had put relationships, never mind.

Yes, not all the ages are rounded down as instructed. And of course some are probably inaccurate to begin with depending who gives the info to the enumerator.

We are lucky the 1841 census has as much as it does. I'm certainly happy records exist for Scotland. :)

Rather than start a new thread for this family and since the info is on this one i have stayed here.

Thanks CP. Just got to find the birth for John and hopefully get his parents names or might have to order the death cert. and see what name is on that for father to narrow them down a bit. Thanks again for your help:)
