Thanks. We have done a bit on the family previously.

1954 QLD Electoral Roll - Bowman - Bulimba
LOVELLY William Harvey Chapman, 172 Barton rd., Hawthorne, mining engineer

1961, 1967 & 1968 QLD Electoral Roll - Griffith - Bulimba

But I had nothing about the shipping record. That explains why she was only found again in E/R in 1961.

Hello Lesley,

welcome to FHUK.

You have done a good job of confusing me. ;)

Actually, it's some time since I've looked at this branch but I know I have gaps and possibly errors in my tree.

Weather here is so hot I'll have to limit my computer up time because of the video card temperature. It might take me several days to get some queries posted.

I'm sure you will be able to help me. I'm not directly related. They are in my tree by connection to FURNER (my grandmother).

Dave

Hello Lesley,

Yes, I have the address as 72 Thornhill stret, Young. My uncle worked in Young in the early days of his career as an accountant with a branch of the family firm.

Re Alice the niece, I don't seem to have her in my tree.

I'm wondering how much you know or can find out for me about the other children of George Spencer and Eliza.

If you can help then I have some specific queries.

Regards,

Dave

Hello Lesley,

Thanks but I don't have access to 'A' because I find too much junk on most of the trees there.

There is Charles FURNER born in 1796 and the same tree lists the death of both parents as 1795. eek)

I've not looked at that part of my tree since your previous post so I have no specific queries prepared.

The errors and gaps I have are still there.

When and where did she die?

Well I think you MAY have just solved both our gaps, My Aunt could not remember Aunt Essies married name..... It must be DIX and Essie was a pet name for her name Isobel born 1876 Sebastapol( I was presuming it was short for Esther) maybe there is two of them , i will have to keep looking..... (I have only really had a quick little glance around at these ones as they are an offshoot)- her kids are Patricia and a Marjorie who married someone surname Todhunter and Dorothy who married a Stone...there may have been a John Nelson Whiteman also born 1871 Sebastapol - but no one in the family remembers him...I am going on elderly relatives memories on this so we need to take it as not quite gospel..
The Andersons I am 100% on, I knew them all well, in fact they regularly stayed with us and vice versa,(i believe they also had a George who died as an infant) - never mentioned but it has come up in my searches...
I am putting Dix in as we speak in order to search and have a further look at it in an effort to back it up with BDM's etc
Hopefully it will bring up what I need and maybe clarify what you need???

Ok now I am just feeling like an idiot .....And here I was getting all cocky about how well I was doing...that was a joke by the way .As I said, hadnt really got into it yet, but I can confirm the Roseville Street Address, and then Dudley Street as well, for the Andersons....My Parents remember both as correct, and the melnotte Ave, Chatswood one I think as well for the Dix's as the names are too unusual to not be correct..
Re thomas Lewis dix death i agree -17669/1947 DIX THOMAS LEWIS WILLIAM MARY ANN CHATSWOOD
re James Anderson death - i agree
19026/1934 ANDERSON JAMES W 66 YRS ROSEVILLE C CHATSWOOD
that puts him being born around 1867/8 ish

will keep looking for James birth - he married in Young, as did a lot of Andersons - it says he was 66 at death so I am going to have a look now

Hello Lesley,

Seems the puzzle of John Nelson and Reg won't get solved. If he had been named John Reginald Nelson then I'd say, ok, the first one died young. All we have is one birth reg and one death reg and dates and places that don't agree.

I tried to solve the mystery of Eliza's father Charles FURNER last month but made no progress. The trees still have his birth in Kent in 1796 and both his parents as having died in 1795. Seems no one can find a baptism for him anywhere.

Researchers can't even agree about the parents of his spouse Mary WATERS. No parents are listed on either Charles or Mary's death certificate. Most seem to say Francis and Mary but I have baptism records for some of Charles & Mary's children that clearly say her parents are James & Mary. That creates a problem because only a baptism for a Mary WATERS that can be found is for dau of Francis & Mary.

At least we have no problem with Nelson Thomas. ;)

This is one I've not solved:

Hi Dave
have been doing a little research, actually a lot of research, but not a lot of results!!! Oh well,
I found the newspaper article below re Dr Reg giving his daughter a fully furnished house aas a wedding gift

http://trove.nla.gov.au/static/ndp/tmpImageFiles/article44522747-3-1305256987529/article44522747-3-001.jpg

And I found records of Trixie Linnelle going on a Cunard Cruise between New York and Southhampton in 1959 after her husbands death in in 1956, which i note you have previously discussed - so maybe she remarried (in NY or London?) and we havent been researching her new name, you said you had Voting records from after the period of of her husbands death, could she have kept her name the same on the electoral roll but not on her death certificate????? She would have had to use her original passport in the name Lovely to get home on the ticket? have you seen this before as a common practice if the house is say in the original married name??? Just a thought...am still looking, I love a challenge......
I have a particular one of my own at the moment that I cant go backwards on with my Millard line...he was a successful man with a large family and buildings classsified by the NSW Gov because of historical significance about him and his family, but do you think I can go backwards from him...NOPE.. It is driving me mad....I am going to have to spend some money on death certs I think Grrrrr.

That's the name on the shipping record back to Australia in 1959. It also says marital Status: Single eek)

Someone told me she died in 1974 but I can't find a record. So she went on a cruise to get a new husband? Possible explanation why no death record under LOVELY.
