Hello crankypants,

Thank you very much. That looks like the family. Nancy Ann must have died.

John married Annie Duncan Gordon SANDS on 27 Dec 1907 at Hutchesontown.

Annie died in 1968 and I don't know when John died:

1968 SLOAN ANNIE DUNCAN G SANDS F 84 GLASGOW GLASGOW/LANARK 644/09 1036

Dave

Samuel Sloan and Eliza Dunlop were my great, great grandparents.
Their eldest daughter Elizabeth was my great grandmother.
Her daugher, also Elizabeth, my grandmother, and her daughter Agnes was my mother.
Would love to know your connection and/or more info on the family.
Regards,
Sonia

Hello Sonia,

welcome to FHUK.

If the statement I made in post #3 is correct re the marriage to John SLOAN then that's my connection through Annie SANDS.

Annie's grandfather John and my GG grandfather William SANDS were brothers. Not a very close connection. :)

Regards,

Dave

Hello Sonia,

Can you confirm I have the right John for that 1907 marriage?

If you would like more than the 1891 census we can ask for a look up for 1871 and 1901.

Regards,

Dave

Hello cp,

Please see if you can find the family in post #2 in 1901 or at least find John b. abt 1885.

Thanks.

regards,

Dave

Hello cp,

Thank you very much.

I'm not sure I have the right John so I hope it can be confirmed without having to get a copy of the marriage.

Sibling
Nancy Ann SLOAN b. 30 Nov 1873 Hutchesontown, Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland
Samuel & Elizabeth DUNLOP

Please see if you can find the family in 1881. I wonder if Nancy will be there. Thanks.

Regards,

Dave
